MIAMI – Court records show George Zimmerman had a pair of black eyes, a nose fracture and two cuts to the back of his head after the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

The medical records were part of evidence released Tuesday that prosecutors have in the second-degree murder case against Zimmerman. He has entered a plea of not guilty and claims self-defense in the Feb. 26 shooting. A message left Tuesday evening with Zimmerman's attorney was not immediately returned.

Zimmerman was treated Feb. 27 at Altamonte Family Practice. A phone call made Tuesday evening to the practice rang unanswered.

ABC News first reported Zimmerman's injuries from the medical records. Some of the injuries were previously reported by The Associated Press based on video of Zimmerman at a jail sally port.

SANFORD, Fla. — WFTV has learned charges against George Zimmerman could be getting more serious. State prosecutors said Zimmerman, a neighborhood watchman, profiled and stalked 17-year-old Trayvon Martin before killing him, so the FBI is now looking into charging him with a hate crime.

Zimmerman admitted to killing Martin in February during a confrontation. However, he claims the shooting was in self-defense. He's facing a second-degree murder charge, which carries a maximum possible sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. But if Zimmerman is charged and found guilty of a federal hate crime involving murder, he could face the death penalty.

FBI investigators are actively questioning witnesses in the retreat at the Twin Lakes neighborhood, seeking evidence for a possible federal hate crime charge. Martin was unarmed when he was shot to death, police said, and some accuse Zimmerman of targeting the teenager solely because of the color of his skin.

WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said federal prosecutors would have to prove the hate crime to charge Zimmerman, though. "What the government would have to prove is that Mr. Zimmerman acted out of hatred toward African-Americans. That's why he came into contact with him. That's why he shot and killed him," Sheaffer said.

NEWLYWED still wearing her wedding dress was found stabbed to death in a bathtub at her suburban apartment just days after her wedding. Estrella Carrera, 26, was found around 3:30pm on Sunday in the 7800 block of South Rutherford Avenue, in the Burbank area of Chicago, according to police.

Carrera's body was discovered after her sister became alarmed when she could not contact her and asked police to conduct a well-being check at the home, officials said.

When police called at her home, she was found with multiple stab wounds in an empty bathtub. Relatives say she was a Spanish language translator for a welfare agency. Police today declared the death a homicide after autopsy results confirmed she died from the stab wounds.

The 26-year-old was last seen around 2am on Saturday, hours after her wedding the evening before. She was due to pick up her two children - aged eight and two years old - from a family member on Saturday afternoon but did not show up, according to the Chicago Tribune.

One in 3 young adults with autism have no paid job experience, college or technical schooling nearly seven years after high school graduation, a study finds. That's a poorer showing than those with other disabilities including those who are mentally disabled, the researchers said.

With roughly half a million autistic kids reaching adulthood in the next decade, experts say it's an issue policymakers urgently need to address. The study was done well before unemployment peaked from the recession. The situation today is tough even for young adults who don't have such limitations.

Ian Wells of Allentown, N.J., is 21, autistic and won't graduate from high school until next year. He is unlikely to attend college because of his autism. He wants a job but has only found unpaid internships and is currently working part-time and unpaid as a worker at a fastener factory.

He's a hard worker, with good mechanical skills, but has trouble reading and speaking, said his mother, Barbara Wells. She said his difficulties understanding social cues and body language can make other people uncomfortable. "I'm very afraid" about his prospects for ever finding long-term employment, she said. "It keeps me up at night."

WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- An NFL Star's teenage brother was charged in the murder of a tourist from Denver, police said. Nineteen-year-old Michael Davis has been charged with first degree murder for the incident that happened on the 800 block of Emerson Street, on Tuesday, April 24.

Davis is accused of bludgeoning 66 year-old tourist Gary Dederichs, with some kind of object, believed to be a claw hammer, police said. Davis has been connected to and charged with other hammer attacks in a 10 block radius of the Dederichs incident.

He was chased down by police officers on the 800 block of Illinois Avenue, after he allegedly attacked a 19-year-old woman in the Petworth area of DC.

Davis is the brother of superstar NFL tight-end Vernon Davis, who flew back to DC the night he heard of the initial charges and accusations against his younger sibling.
